How to go fast

I love language these days.

Different words can mean completely different things to different people.

There have been so many times that hearing a certain word, or a certain phrasing lead to something finally clicking inside me.

Today I read the word ‘dwell’ in a sentence.

For whatever reason, it hit me with a bit of a feeling.

Here’s one definition of dwell –

“To fasten one’s attention on something, especially moodily or persistently: synonym: brood”

What’s also happening while you dwell?

Time is passing, and there’s a bunch of other stuff you’re not doing.

More specifically, you aren’t

  • Being present
  • Having new experiences
  • Moving towards things you actually want
  • Accepting how you feel effectively and moving on

Eventually you’ll find your way back to the present, but the time has already passed.

Maybe it was just a moment, or maybe it was days.

This also tends to be the place where all the things you regret happen.

Where things feel like a blur, or you’re on auto-pilot, distracted, disconnected, lost in thought, spiraling, or just day-dreaming a bit.

What can you actually do about it?

Learn to recognize and notice when you’re dwelling on something.

It’s in that moment you notice that you get to create the next moment of what you actually want

  • Being present
  • Having new experiences
  • Moving towards things you actually what you want

From that place?

You get to create another moment, and another moment.

Moment to moment, the life and experiences you want can unfold.

That’s all.

Master that, and you can go very fast.

And in my experience, there’s no better feeling than consistently moving towards more and more of the things you want in life, while having an amazing time, and never feeling stuck or taking big steps back.

Go back to dwelling?

And you’ll continue to have the same frustrating experiences you’ve always had.

If this resonates with what you’ve been experiencing lately, hit me up – I can help.
