TEXAS CARD ROOM RAIDED

From the news today –

The Lodge card club in Texas got raided this morning.

The first thing I heard about it was from a friend posting in a discord:

“Apparently lodge Austin had a police presence this morning looking for management.”

That’s it.

That’s all I got.

And you know what? That’s all I’m going to tell you about it too.

If you’re hearing it for the first time, go ahead and notice how much stuff your brain is trying to fill in.

All the things that one statement could mean, and all the places the story could be headed.

Is it a problem that you don’t know the rest?

Are you able to just leave it at that?

If you had already heard about it today, what did you do right after you heard?

Yes, you can google it or check out some reddit threads, and probably get all the answers you want.

But it won’t always be like that.

There are endless rabbit holes in the game of poker.

You can dissect one spot for hours.

When you play a hand and it starts to bother you afterwards, what happens next?

Are you able to just say, ‘that happened’, and move on, without needing to know anything else?

Or do hands constantly pile up in your head?

Don’t get me wrong, I think studying and learning from the hands you played is great, but I also love to be able to unplug from the game after the session is over, and be present with who or what is currently in front of me.

Apparently, that’s a skill not many people have these days.

It’s something I couldn’t do for the first 8 years of my poker career, and it’s one of the most common problems I help my clients with.

It’s quite an enjoyable skill to be able to pump the brakes on whatever your mind is trying to latch on to next.

Sound like something you’re into?
