It was unintentional

Where can your mind put its attention?

In the past, the present or the future.

Where can you actually exist?

Just the present.

Everyone I’ve worked with enjoys fully being in the present moment the most, but we tend to steer away as soon as some discomfort shows up. In those moments, we get stuck in our head, replaying things of the past, or trying to plan and avoid them happening in the future.

It’s often unintentional.

If we could just tell ourselves to stay present, most of us would, and then let our attention drift to the past or future for brief, intentional periods.

But without a clear path to staying present, we’re left with whatever we get.

Some days will be spent much more present than others.

When big, emotional things happen?

We’ll inevitably spend a lot more time in our heads. It’s what we’ve been conditioned to do. Thinking and avoiding, rather than feeling in the present.

It’s unintentional.

It’s probably not how you would have designed things in today’s world.

But it happens.

It took me a while to wrap my head around that.

But it’s very much possible to learn to stay present through even the most intense, painful times. To lean into whatever discomfort is happening internally, and still be able to have fun and enjoy yourself.

Here’s the thing –

You don’t actually get to 100% know that’s possible until it happens though.

And it won’t happen until you’re willing to experience something you never have before.

So if you need to know it’s possible for you before you commit, then you never actually will.

It’s a bit of a catch-22.

But if you’re completely open and willing to experience a new side of things both in poker and life, I’ve got quite a lot of great things to teach you. Hit me up here:
