How I do it now

Something I’ve been catching myself with lately –

“I don’t have time for that.”

Turns out that every time I say that, it isn’t true. Framing it this way is just a sneaky little way to play victim to time. There’s not much I can’t make room for if it’s something I’m really interested in.

“I’m choosing not to do that” is a whole lot more accurate. This way I’m taking full responsibility for how I’m spending my time.

The latter just tends to come with some bigger emotions, especially when things aren’t really going the way you want them to. It feels so much easier to shift the blame to something outside ourselves – even something as vague as ‘time’.

The reality is you can always create time for the experience you want. It might take some uncomfortable conversations, or facing a few things you haven’t been lately.

That’s certainly a choice you get to make though.

In my experience, there’s a whole lot more of what you want on the other side of that discomfort, but you don’t get to know that until you take the leap into it. Once you feel it though, you’ll probably wonder why you would do ever do it any other way.

======================

One of my clients wrote to me the other day, less than 2 months into working together

“Lately I have been feeling better than ever, enjoying every moment of my days, being more and more present, being at peace by myself. I’m really focused during the sessions, I don’t feel bored, I don’t have thoughts about future and past.”

There’s no right or wrong experience, but if that sounds like something you’re interested in having in let me know. You can find me here:
