Today marks one week of emails.
The list is growing, and I’m more excited than ever.
My girlfriend even became a daily reader. Something I love about her – she’s endlessly supportive, but not at all shy at offering constructive feedback. When I asked her what she thought, her response was:
“I’m having a hard time getting past the lack of punctuation.”
I also asked my mentor Jason for some feedback. His response?
“Are you anti-punctuation or something? Why are there no periods at the end of a sentence”
I’m not a writer.
But apparently, I do like to write.
In yesterday’s email there was a list of just 2 things, and I listed them both as #1.
Whoops.
A couple years ago I would have gotten real stuck on comments like that, despite them coming from people who genuinely care about me and were trying to help. I probably would have started doing things like extra proofreading, feeding it through AI to check it, writing multiple drafts, and maybe quitting altogether (or as the kids like to call it these days, going on a side quest).
But now?
I’d rather let it come out however it does, and continue onto the next thing, completely unbothered by mistakes.
I’ll keep writing, my punctuation will (hopefully) get better, and I’ll continue having a blast. Maybe someday I’ll even call myself a writer (probably not).

In poker?
You only get one shot at the decision, then you move on.There’s no proofreading or submitting it to an editor first.
If you get stuck on what happened?
You’re going to be very ineffective at all the decisions you make going forward.
You’ll stay stuck in your head, replaying all the things you missed, and wondering what life would be like if you did something different – all while not at all being present with what’s actually going on in the current moment.
Get stuck often enough, and you’ll start to wonder why you’re always thinking your results don’t match your ability.
I used to get stuck all the time.
Now I just let it rip and happily move on no matter what.
If you want to get clear on the things you actually want, and learn how to move towards them while having a great time and never getting stuck on the mistakes along the way, hit me up here:
